Owing to their distinctive electronic structure, rare‑earth elements can tune diverse properties of functional materials. In the field of energy materials, they can enhance hydrogen‑storage, electrode, catalytic and ionic‑conductive performances, gaining wide research interest and practical applications. This forum addresses frontier scientific and technical challenges of rare‑earth energy materials through academic exchanges and discussions, so as to advance the practical deployment of rare‑earth‑based energy materials.
